Since the Phi Kappa Tau Foundation’s inception in 1945 as a public, charitable and educational foundation the mission has been to insure the philanthropic support necessary to sustain high levels of educational programming by fostering lifelong relationships and commitment to the Fraternity’s ideals.
The mission of Phi Kappa Tau is to champion a lifelong commitment to brotherhood, learning, ethical leadership and exemplary character.
Our Vision:
Building on the power of brotherhood embodied in the Cardinal Principles and responding to society’s need for visionary leaders, the Phi Kappa Tau Foundation will secure resources to develop and support men who:
• Demonstrate unwavering character
• Embrace responsibility
• Exhibit ethical values
• Serve mankind
• Effect positive change
Overview:
The Foundation’s operations fall into three main areas: acquiring assets, effectively managing those assets, and distributing assets to fulfill our vision. The Foundation accepts a variety of restricted and unrestricted gifts. As a tax-exempt, public charitable and educational foundation, gifts are tax deductible to the extent the law allows.
The Internal Revenue Service recognizes the Phi Kappa Tau Foundation as a 501c(3) public charitable organization. The Foundation Board of Trustees manages the general operations of the Foundation. The asset base exceeds $10 million. A professional staff oversees day-to-day activities.
Currently, the Foundation distributes more than $350,000 for educational and character building programs, leadership development opportunities, undergraduate and graduate academic scholarships, educational grants, and philanthropic grants to the Hole In The Wall Gang Camps. The Foundation is the official publisher of The Laurel, Phi Kappa Tau’s award-winning magazine.
Thanks to the support of thousands of alumni, undergraduates, parents and friends, the Foundation has continued to increase the number of opportunities to benefit the Brotherhood of Phi Kappa Tau.
