Arrow is a small marketing communications company operating in a multi-lingual, trans-national environment. The intern may work in any one of Arrow's marketing areas: market research, press and public relations, creative design and presentation, or media planning and buying worldwide.
This general practice law firm deals in commercial litigation and arbitration, family law, commercial and property work, and environmental law. Subject to need during the year, the firm may require an intern who will assist solicitors/legal executives in various facets of their work, including attending court, assisting in drafting documents, and undertaking research. Because the firm has close contact with lawyers worldwide, a knowledge of French, Hungarian, or German would be an advantage, as would experience in public speaking. The intern should be sympathetic to a different approach to litigation and the solicitor/client relationship.
Profile is the UK's leading specialist in corporate communication, working for government and blue-chip companies. The intern will work as a member of an account team in areas including: publishing, health, pensions, corporate social responsibility, UK political lobbying, and design and production of print and exhibitions.
The student should have knowledge of Word for Windows, experience in media writing, and a keen interest in this area. An intern with an interest in marketing and writing or in the political system and able to perform articulately would be especially helpful. Profile would welcome an intern with European language skill.
The intern will undertake a marketing research project, write a short report on the subject, help with conference planning and administration, and assist the research and communications associates. The student will also assist in general office tasks.
German would be helpful but not essential. Simple word processing would also be useful. The student must have a good writing style and should be able to interview executives. The intern should be prepared to work in a small office on his/her own initiative and should feel comfortable about developing a social life outside the office since the staff is small.
The intern will assist the Director-Europe with the execution of Europe-wide projects, such as catalog shows, market research, and international trade fairs.
THe office seeks a dynamic and flexible self-starter who works well in a small team. Perfect English and a good knowledge of German are essential. Skill in French and/or other European languages would be an asset. The student must be a good communicator with strong writing skills and general knowledge of and interest in European affairs. The intern should also have perfect knowledge of WordPerfect (DOS or Windows) and some knowledge of databanks.
