Bear Manufacturing |
Children's Hospital of the King's Daughters |
September 12, 2007 1:30-2:45 1 hour and Fifteen Mins. |
I was very happy that I attended this community service project. I have participated in many community service activities but non like this one. I learned how to stuff bears, and how to sow the little cloth bears together. I'm not going to lie it was not an easy task what so ever and i probably won’t remember how to sow a bear again. :) But it makes me happy that my project (the bear) is going to make some little boy or girl smile, and to me that's all that matters. That is my favorite type of community service and it’s the one that hits your heart. <3 |

Working with the Elderly |
Making a Difference At The School. |
Sept 27t, 2007 4 hours |
This has been my favorite service project so far. A group of us went to a nursing home and we had a good time with a few members that we're there. We danced and we sang, it was so much fun. There was a little old man named Paul and he was my favorite at of all of them. He taught me how to really slow dance and it was so cute. I had a great time. |

Bear Manufacturing |
Children's Hospital of the King's Daughters |
October 24th, 2007 2 hours |
I made Bears once again with my class. I went to this with my friend Maura and we stayed for two hours helping stuff bears for Mi Mi. (I think that’s how you spell it.) It was a lot of fun, and it was for a very good cause. We made bears for little children that are in the hospital. It makes me happy to know that I am going to make a little boy or girl smile just because my classes came together and made them bears. |

Passing out candy |
Halloween |
October 30th, 2007 6:00 to 9:00 3 hours |
Passing out candy to the little kids was a lot of fun. They were so cute. There was a little boy that came to my room and he was bat man, he was seriously the cutest kid I have ever seen! His little brothers and sisters were so cute. We had many costumes some to our room. A princess, a bumble bee, bat man, spider man and they were all so cute. My roommate and I passed out little things like suckers and chocolates. I love Halloween. |

Bob the Marlin |
November 16h and 17h. |
7:30 to 10:30 both nights. Six hours. |
I had so much fun being the mascot for my cheerleading squad! I got to be Bob the Marlin for our men’s competition games this weekend. Excitingly we won both games as well. A lot of school spirit was involved with this I had to run around and be the craziest marlin I could be. This at times was a little hard, esp. when it was 100 degrees in the suit. It is definitely something that I would do again if I had to. |

Making Bears over Thanksgiving Break |
November 21st-25th |
When I was able to sit down and work on them. 2 hours |
Over thanksgiving break I took home bears with me so I could stuff them for some more hours of community service. I was stuffing bears for little kids, which was to me very worth while. My brother also joined in to help me stuff the bears which were a bonding experience that we were able to share. All together we did about 20 bears in two hours. |

Cooking for Kids |
November 28, 2007 |
6:30 to 8:30 |
My friend Maura and I decided it would be a fun way of doing community service if we helped out with cooking for kids. It was a lot of fun and it was nice meeting all the people that helped out with this program. I was happy that I got to cook for people that were hungry and know that that many people wont be hungry that night because of the “small” difference that we had made that night. |
