1. Tara Salem, a freshman cross country runner, finished first in the Blue Marlin Invitational. It was the first time a female runner from VWC has won the invitational.

2. The volleyball team began sesaon with best start in school history at 7-1.

3. The women’s soccer team started the season 3-1-1 and is ranked No. 12 nationally and No. 2 in the South Region.

4. Jennifer Perkinson, a sophomore volleyball player, set three VWC records in kills, attacks, and attack percentage.

5. Sharon Hay, a senior women’s soccer player, recorded five goals in the first five games of the season.

6. Christina Smith, a freshman women’s soccer player, scored the winning goal against Hartwick college with one minute remaining in the game.

7. Caleb Hill, a senior men’s soccer player, scored the winning goal in 2/OT on a penalty kick against William Patterson University.

8. Greg Jackson, a senior cross-country runner, finished 10th of 51 at the W&L invitational.

9. Meagan Koster & Andrea Aiken, first-year goalies on the field hockey team, recorded a combine 17 saves against Salem College.

10. Ryan Cassel, a sophomore men’s soccer player, recorded two goals in the Marlins win over Dennison University.
