The mens lacrosse team finished their season strong, accomplishing many goals and setting several records. The team excelled, not only as a whole, but also individually.
With a record of 3-3 in the ODAC, and 10-5 overall, the men finished fourth in the conference. The lacrosse team has been in the nations top 20 for the past six weeks, reaching as high as 17th.
This season was a season of firsts, as the lacrosse team has had the most conference wins and the fewest losses. In addition, the mens team has won 10 games overall, a goal that had not been attained since the program began four years ago.
The first true recruiting class is the group of seniors we have now, said Coach Kyle Hannon. Over the four years there has been a lot of success. Were bringing this program to a different level.
Senior Tom Lewis was the leading scorer with 28 goals and 36 assists as a midfielder. Close behind in points were Scott Chandler, junior, with 36 goals and 25 assists, and Pete Derby, senior, with 46 goals and 12 assists. Drew Clark freshman goalie, ended his season with a .614 save percentage.
When you look at goals this year, its obvious we have to step up and make higher goals next year, said Hannon.
