Many students at VWC like to go to a bar called Secrets. A few weeks ago, two VWC students started fighting in the parking lot of the bar. One student was hospitalized.

"We made sure that whoever needed medical attention got it," said Director of Residence Life Keith Moore.

"We were getting ready to close when the two students were kicked out," said Secrets manager Karon, who withheld her last name. "They were waiting for a ride to pick them up when they started going at it."

It had been reported that some students going to Secrets have been using fake IDs.

"We've always checked at least two forms of IDs at the door, especially on Wednesday, which is college night," said Karon. "That is something that we have always been intense on."

Rumors have also surfaced that there was to be no more College Night.

"We aren't going to discontinue College Night here," said Karon. "We love hanging out with the students. If it wasn't for a few of them being jerks we wouldn't have to beef up security."

"We're trying to help students first and local business second," said Moore. "We know students have a good time and we want them to have a good time, but in a safe manner."

"We do a lot for the students to make sure they have fun here, but when it comes down to this, we've got to do what's right for them and the business," said Karon. "We just wish that we didn't have to."
