at Virginia Wesleyan College know the friendly and familiar face behind the desk in the security office, C. J. Sholler.
“I’ve been working here for three years,” she said. “I’m in charge of key cards, student id’s, payroll, and the schedule.”
Sholler is the administrative assistant for the security department on campus. Over the past three years, the only difference in the department has been a change in directors.
“I graduated from Saint Cloud State University,” said Sholler. “I have my bachelor’s degree in science.”
Originally from Minnesota, Sholler met Michael on the internet. He lived in Virginia and he flew her to Virginia so they could meet. They’ve been happily married ever since. They have one son, Jon.
Many students say Sholler always greets you with a smile and never makes you feel bad or puts you on the spot.
“I like her,” said junior Kyle Wernick. “She’s very helpful.”
“I have had like one encounter with her and it was friendly,” said Nick Pearl.
However, some students know that Sholler is very nice but always plays by the book.
“She is tough,” said Mal Mobley. “She sticks to the rules, no matter what the circumstances.”
For the past three years, Sholler has always been there for the students. The number one reason students go to see her is to replace their key cards that get deactivated. She will always be the friendly and familiar face behind the desk in Village one.
