As part of a Jewish tradition, attendees of the dedication ceremony of a tree in memory of the Holocaust were asked to place stones around the Dr. Catharine Cookson Peace Pole. There was a moment of silence as the stones were placed around the pole. The tree, dedicated to Holocaust victims, stands in the Peace Garden. The ceremony occurred as a result of vandalism toward the first Holocaust tree earlier in the semester.
