Letter to the Editor

To the Virginia Wesleyan Community:

On October llth my daughter and I went to Virginia Wesleyan to put flowers on my husband s plaque in the Peace Garden. How shocked and disappointed we were to see that there is no plaque, as promised, to honor Officer Wally s memory nor was there a wreath of any kind to commerate his tragic death two years ago today. My husband gave his life for your school, and you cannot even show any respect for his memory. Shame on you!

Mrs. Walter Zakrzewski

Editor Since her husband was taken from her two years ago, the school has often fallen short when it comes to helping Mary Ann. We couldn t agree more with her assessment. In face, as the institution on this campus whose goal is to recognize wrongdoings such as these, we apologize to Mary Ann for not fulfilling our duty to her. She is forever linked to this campus, and we as a community should not continually let her down.
