Though I m sure I ll be called a heretic for saying this, sometimes you just want some Mexican food that s a step up from Taco Bell. Luckily, there are several restaurants in the area, including Mangos Mexican Restaurant and Sports Grill.

Mangos is a a very diverse place, with an intersting and cozy atmosphere. It almost feels like being in another country in a lot of respect, especially with its lovely interior architecture. Mangos offers exotic drinks, free wireless internet and a place to view televised sports, although they also show Latin music concerts and other shows. This way you can catch one of your games while you enjoy your food.

All of the traditional staples of Mexican food are there, from the nacho and cheese quesadilla appetizers to the chicken enchiladas. As far as appetizers go, the cheese quesadilla is great, and mushroom quesadilla entre is actually much better than I expected, though I was reluctant to try any quesadilla that didn t involve chicken or beef. As far as drinks go, I would advise anyone of legal drinking age with either a designated driver or cab fare on hand to try the Margarita, or one of the signiature Mango-ritas.

Mangos is located at 544 Newtown Rd in Virginia Beach. For more information, you can call them at (757)-497-4022 or visit their website at http://www.mangosmexicangrill.com.
