A Great Mind

What is your personality type? Many people would look at you with a blank stare if you were to ask such a question. By taking the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator or MBTI, I figured out that I am an ENFP. This acronym stands for Extroverted, Intuitive, Feeling, and Perceiving. Examples of famous ENFP’s are Robin Williams, Mark Twain, Theodor “Dr.” Seuss Geisel, Bill Cosby, Dave Thomas, Martin Short, Meg Ryan, Sandra Bullock, Alicia Silverstone, Sinbad, and Regis Philbin. By taking this assessment I figured out that I am an interesting person and I also figured out how my mind works.

The first letter to explain is “E” which is extroversion. Since I am an extrovert I obtain my energy from outside sources, most of which are people. I received 33 out of 100 in this section so that means that this is a comfortable zone for me. I also possess a dominate intuition to the world around me. I generally have very high energy for the majority of any particular day, so I am fun to be around. I really like to talk as well and most of that comes from liking to make people laugh. Another thing that makes me an extrovert is the fact is that I think out loud when doing things like homework, projects, or even in general. The fourth thing that makes me an extrovert is that I like to be around people. The last thing that makes me an extrovert is the fact that I am easily distracted. If anyone is doing anything that I view as interesting my attention will be pulled toward whatever that person happens to be doing.

The second letter to explain is “N” which is intuitive. I received 33 out of 100 on this section which expresses that I am comfortable in this area as well. I am an “N” because I admire the creative side of information. I also like focusing on ideas and the big picture of any “project”. Another thing that makes me intuitive is that I have roundabout thoughts that are almost never on the subject that they should be. I am also very imaginative and I see a future to things that others might not. Another facet that goes with that is that I am future oriented. This is true because I am always looking ahead to bigger and better things.

The third letter to explain is “F” which stands for feeling. In this section I received 12 out of 100 which expresses that I really don’t stay in this personality section 100 percent of the time. I am a feeling personality type because I am warm and friendly, but I do get my feelings hurt easily. I am very sensitive to people’s needs and I am diplomatic which allows me to be able to maneuver through conversations well. I also do a lot to please others, especially my girlfriend. Finally, I am always motivated by people appreciating me whether it’s things that I have done or things that I might do.

The last letter to explain is “P” which stands for perceiving. In this section I received 1 out of 100 which means that I use both judging and perceiving in everyday life. I have a perceiving personality type because I am playful and casual and this can lead to tardiness which is another characteristic I have. I also like to play first and work later. This is very true because I am a procrastinator. Finally, I like to start projects but I also really like to finish them as well.

As a whole being an ENFP rocks. I believe that this personality type describes me to a completely. Because I am an ENFP I have a silly switch which allows me to go from being serious to being playful and joking around like I usually do. A career that was said to be perfect for me was to be an artist. I think that would work well because I love to draw anything and I am able to draw a lot of things, for the exception of people. If I were to pursue this career I believe that I would want to live somewhere far away with an interesting culture. To satisfy this I think I would want to live in Tokyo, Japan. This is because they have a cool sense of artisan style, and flavor.

By taking this assessment I figured out that I have an interesting personality and I also figured out how to mold my future around that. All of the famous ENFP’s that were mentioned spanned from comedy to acting to writing to being an entrepreneur. Even though the acronym ENFP stands for “Extroverted, Intuitive, Feeling, and Perceiving”, I would like to thing of it more as an “Exceptionally kNowledgeable Friendly Person” because that is what I am. I know what my personality is and I am happy to know that I will be able to paint my own future so to speak.
