January 2007		Newtown Road Elementary School	Norfolk, VA
School Psychology Extern § Observed psychological testing and one on one therapy sessions with students in grades k-5. § Participated in home visits with school social worker. § Lead a small reading group with three second graders. § Brainstormed ideas about how to help students succeed in the classroom.
May 2005		The Baer School	Baltimore, MD
Assistant Teacher § Assisted two teachers in a classroom of four and five year olds with and without disabilities. § Encouraged students to listen to their classmates and teachers. § Helped to make the children’s environment at school very comfortable and supportive.
June-August 2003		The Johns Hopkins Hospital	Baltimore, MD
Volunteer in the Child Life Department § Oversaw how the child life specialist helped families cope with their child being in the hospital. § Played with the children when families needed a break. § Set up opportunities for children to take their minds off of being in the hospital.
