9/7/09 - 5hrs BINGO Night in Chesapeake The VWC Softball team volunteered at BINGO night where we gave out BINGO cards, tickets, and prizes. Everyone there was very nice and courteous. And although I mainly stayed in the non-smoking section, everyone from the other section were just as nice.

9/2/09  -  1.5hrs Children's  Hospital of the Kings and Daughters Making bears for the children: flipping, sewing, stuffing and drawing faces on the bear. This was a great opportunity to bond with all of my classmates, and to reassure a sick child at the hospital that we, the community, care.

9/19/09 - 3hrs Stop Hunger Now Bagging food to feed people in Sudan for 10 months. There is not better feeling in this world than to know that you've made a difference is some ones life.  Just imagining the smiles on their faces feels priceless to me. This event was the largest in the state of Virginia and I am glad I can say that I was a part of it.

9/21/09 - 2hrs Cooking For Kids Pouring peaches into the pans, toping them with bread crumbs, labeling and sealing the lids, and putting them into the rack. Kids have always been my weak points. If I hear about misfortunate kids, I feel compelled to help, so I left the kitchen very satisfied, just knowing that kids who wouldn't normally have something nice to eat would. And getting to volunteer with my friends was a bonus!

11/20/09 - 1hrs Operation Christmas Child Wrapping and packing boxes to give to children who don't really get Christmas gifts. I love Christmas time and it breaks my heart to know that some kids don't even know what Christmas is. Doing this project only made me think about how happy the kids who will be receiving these gifts will be. I plan on doing this project every year!

11/22/09 - 3.5 hrs Children's  Hospital of the Kings and Daughters Stuffing bears for the sick children in the hospital. Once again, this activity was a great experience!
