At the bear making, I put the faces on the bears, and even sewed a little. I am very glad that my mom taught me how to sew because it really came in handy on September 12, 2007. I had a wonderful time, and I felt like I accomplished a lot. |
| Planting at Nursery | October 13, 2007

Earth Zanga |
On October 13, 2007, I was home in northern Virginia, and I worked with one of my favorite organizations Earth Zanga. I planted trees and plants. I love working with them because they are great people, and I did a lot of community service with them in high school. They always have community service opportunities. |
| Passing out Halloween Candy | October 30, 2007
3 hours and 30 minutes |
Virginia Wesleyan College |
Handing out candy to the children was such a wonderful and joyful experience. The kid were dressed up and they looked adorable. I dressed up as a cowgirl, and wore cowboy boots and a country concert tee shirt. I bought 3 bags of snickers, butterfingers, and Hershey kisses. It was tons of fun, and walking with the kid and passing out candy made it even better. Halloween is defiantly my favorite holiday. |
| Art Expo | November 3, 2007

On November 3, 2007 I worked at the art expo put on by the adult studies program to help with there funds. I filled in for the artist when they needed a break, and I passed out flyers so people would come to the expo. There were tons of beautiful jewelry, paintings, and photography. I believe the art expo was a fabulous event and had a wonderful time working. |
| Cooking for Kids | November
7, 2007
6:30 -8:30 - 2 hours |
Virginia Wesleyan College |
Cooking for Kids was such an amazing experience, and I fully enjoyed my time cooking in the Virginia Wesleyan College Kitchen. I mixed the meat sauce and pasta then I scooped the pasta into many different containers. We put the labels on the containers and after two hours of hard work we were finished. I feel like cooking for kids although it was messy, we all put are hard work into making the food perfect for the people that were receiving them. |
| American Red Cross Blood Drive | November

Although, I didn't give blood at the Drive I did work the front booth and signed people in and explain to new donator what the process would consist of. Giving blood is very important to me so I am very glad I was apart. I was very glad to see how many Virginia Wesleyan Student gave blood, especially males. I sat with the people after they donated, and made sure they had a beverage and a snack. |
