9/12/07 2 hr's Bear Making the bear making was fun. we got to hang out with mimi and she was rad! i was part of the sewing crew and i did a pretty good job. at the bear making event i met a few new people and that was cool too. i hope that all the kids who get a bear enjoy them.
9/27/07 2 hr's lacrosse presentation @ birdneck elementary school my coach took a few other guys on the lacrosse team and i to birdneck elementary school for a presentation to the kids on lacrosse. we got there and all the kids were very excited to see us. we started off by showing the kids the differences between girls and guys lacrosse. then we went on to show them a short film of the team playing against cnu last year. they loved when some one got hit or fell on the ground. afterward we did kind of a meet and greet with the kids and that was fun. i showed them a bunch of stick tricks that i know and they loved that. i got tons of hugs and high fives from little kids. it was a cool experience and if the opportunity comes up again i will for sure be participating.

8 hr's  Lacrosse clinic  on sunday morning about twenty players from the virginia wesleyan lacrosse team including myself went to help out with the clinic that our coach, j.p. stewart, hosts. we started off by warming up the goalies and stretching out the other players. we then had stations. i was at the defense station where we taught proper forms of man down defense. it was a beautiful sunny day and we had a great time with all the kids. towards the end of the clinic, we had the kids scrimmage each other. it was a great time and the kids got after it. it was a fun time and i will be participating again next sunday. again we came out early sunday morning for the clinic. we basically did the same thing as before accept this time i was with the older kids. we worked on ground balls and stick work. at the end we scrimmaged and i even played a little bit. it was the last one of the clinics so we had a raffle. every kid got a ticket and won great prizes from VWC lacrosse t-shirts to warrior lacrosse backpacks. it was a fun time!
10/30 2 hr's trick or treat for little kids little kids came by campus last night to trick or treat through the dorms. i went out and bought candy for them and sat at the door awaiting their arrival. it was really cute. the kids were really little and all dresses up. it was funny when they would look in our rooms and just say "ooh" and "ahh". so all in all it was fun and i think the kids has a good time too.
11/10 3 hr's battle @ the beach lax tournament on saturday the tenth there was a lacrosse tournament called the battle at the beach. it was made up of over twenty teams from around the south. our coach asked us to come out to help with the games and the concession stand. i worked the concession stand along with a couple other of my lax buddies. it was freezing cold and the wind chill made it colder. it was really fun though seeing all these high school teams play. also it was like hell broke loose when the grill stopped working and all the people were practically yelling at me because they wanted something hot. the wind was so strong that it would blow out the propane. finally i stood up for myself and flat out told them that we aren't selling grilled food anymore. it was more or less successful and a fun time.
11/21 2 hr's thanksgiving dinner for the homeless On the day before thanksgiving, my brothers and i went to the homeless shelter down in lomita to help out with the thanksgiving dinner that the shelter puts on every year. we got there around four to start cooking and were done around six. everything was basically pre-made and all we had to do were some final preparations. it was a very rewarding experience to help out. it was especially nice because i was with my two brothers. we served more than 300 people dinner that night. being with my brothers and giving back to the community was a fun and fulfilling experience.
